The All-in-One AI Pulse: Latest Tools, Trends, and Updates in your Inbox

“We might have AI smarter than any human by the end of this year, I would say no later than next year.”

— Elon Musk

Welcome to another edition of the Be10x AI Pulse,

This week, we’re looking at three major developments showing how quickly AI is moving beyond simple chatbots from OpenAI exploring how society can stay in control as AI advances, to ChatGPT stepping into our personal conversations and Google bringing interactive AI-powered learning tools to students.

Let’s jump right in!

AI & Society

OpenAI has launched a new Strategic Futures team focused on one major question: how can society adopt powerful AI without allowing too much power to end up in the hands of governments, companies, or a small group of people? The team argues that AI could change how governments, businesses, and economies operate by reducing their dependence on human labour. Its goal is to explore ways to keep people in control, protect individual freedom, and prevent AI from creating an unhealthy concentration of power.

OpenAI says future AI governance should give individuals and smaller organisations more control while keeping humans responsible for important decisions. The team will study AI’s impact on economics, law, public policy, and society, and will publish its research through articles, papers, videos, and podcasts.

AI & Productivity

OpenAI has launched a new Apple Messages plug-in that lets ChatGPT work directly with your conversations, from finding old messages and drafting replies to organising and managing chats. But with that convenience comes an important question: how much access should AI have to our private conversations? Users can ask ChatGPT to search through their message history, suggest follow-up replies, edit or draft messages, and even send or delete messages. The plug-in also works with Codex and ChatGPT Work, extending its use beyond personal conversations.

OpenAI says the plug-in runs locally on the user’s device and does not create a complete index of messages. ChatGPT only accesses messages when the user specifically asks it to, while message content is stored locally rather than on OpenAI’s servers. However, setting it up requires full disc access, which gives the app broad access to files on the device.

AI & Education

Google is giving students a new way to learn with AI-powered visuals, interactive simulations, custom quizzes, and step-by-step help. The new tools aim to make studying more interactive, personalised, and easier to understand. Students can now use Google Search to create interactive visuals and simulations for difficult concepts, ask follow-up questions, and generate customised quizzes across subjects like maths, science, languages, and humanities.

Google Lens can help students understand problems by simply taking a photo, while uploaded notes, PDFs, and slides can be turned into quick study guides. Instead of just giving answers, Gemini can explain concepts, spot mistakes, and guide students through the learning process.

Kimi Agentic Slides is a free AI presentation tool that creates complete, editable slide decks from a simple topic or prompt. It offers two modes: Adaptive Mode for professional, data-driven presentations and Visual Mode for creative, visually rich decks. It can also pull information from sources like the IMF, World Bank, Yahoo Finance, and Google Scholar, helping you build presentations backed by real data. Once finished, you can export your deck as PowerPoint, Google Slides, or PNG.

Google Code Wiki is an AI-powered tool that helps developers understand and navigate large codebases more easily. It can turn a software project into an interactive, easy-to-follow knowledge base, helping you understand how different parts of the code work together. Instead of manually reading hundreds of files, developers can use AI-generated explanations and documentation to explore the project, understand its structure, and find answers faster especially when working with an unfamiliar codebase.
